PHOTONICS ENGINEER (InP)
Alcyon Photonics team is growing. We are looking for a Photonics Engineer (InP). The candidate will lead the design of new devices related to Free Space Communications (High power optical amplifiers and integrated lasers) on InP platforms within the framework of the Eurostars program (UE funded).
Job Description
Photonics:
– Lead components and circuits design for applications such as FSO (High Power Optical Amplifiers and Integrated Lasers design..)
– Design, modelling and simulating photonic components to grow the Alcyon Photonics portfolio
Customer: Collaborate with customers to deliver final device according to specifications: design needs, fabrication, testing…
Project: Participate for the current project within the framework of the Eurostars program (UE funded) activities, Collaborate in the planning of future R&D proposals and customer pilots
Interfacing: Customer | Foundry | Software | Academia |
Requirements
3+ years professional experience:
Design and simulation of photonic structures with commercial tools (Lumerical FDTD, Synopsis Fullwave, Comsol, etc).
Design of photonic circuits applied to sensors or optical communications within the framework of an industrial project or a European project with an end user.
Experience in design of active blocks in InP platforms: Electro optic phase modulators, laser architectures, SOAs, active wavelength filters.
Hands-on experience in characterization of active blocks and PICs (optical and electrical DC and RF).
Hands-on experience in mask layouts for InP in commercial foundries.
Intermediate programming skills (Python): Data structures, Object-oriented programming, Integrated development environments (IDEs), data visualization, Git version control.
